What is a Physiatrist?
Physiatrists use non-surgical treatments tailored to a patient’s specific needs to treat the musculoskeletal system. This includes muscles, bones and associated nerves, ligaments, tendons – as well as musculoskeletal disorders that cause pain and or difficulty with functioning. Physiatrists focus on improving patients’ quality of life by helping them become as functional and pain-free as possible.
What is a Physician Assistant?
Physician Assistants practice medicine on healthcare teams under the supervision of a doctor. Duties can include examining patients, diagnosing illnesses, developing treatment and care plans, counseling patients, and writing prescriptions, as well as assisting surgeons in the operating room.
